maybe we’ll meet at the farmer’s market
or cross paths on the trail.
maybe I’ll only know you through a screen,
pages, sound.

we may never meet.

an aspen may not know another down the grove,
but they know the soil,
the mountain air,
the bluebird’s song—
they share the same earth,
sleep under the same stars,
welcome the same morning sun.
